VICTORIA KUNKA Obituary

VICTORIA (VICKY) KUNKA
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother and grandmother (Baba), Victoria (Vicky) Kunka.

Born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, Victoria moved to Thunder Bay in the mid-1950s with her late husband, Metro, where they farmed in Blake Township.

In her later years, Victoria relocated to Winnipeg to be closer to family. She passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

Victoria lived a good live and faced many challenges along the way, but worked tirelessly to support her family and those less fortunate and gave generously of her time and spirit to her community.

Victoria will be remembered with love by her sons David, Steve (Leslie), Ken (Jenny), her daughter Kathy (Greig) and grandchildren Renee (Jamie), Makenna, Peter and Adleigh.

There will be no service, but the Kunka family would like to take this opportunity to thank Laurie and Rod Metz who were always there for their mother.

Rest in peace.

Aunt Vicky was a beautiful, kind and generous woman. She was incredibly strong, capable and independent! She has left a legacy of love and endurance for all of us.

Sorry to hear about your mother´s passing. She was the last of that generation, the ones who brought us all up and loved us without hesitation. That whole group of people did the best they could with the situation´s they all found themselves in. The Kunka family as a whole has faced many challenges and each challenge was faced square on. What does not kill you makes you stronger and believe me that whole generation passed their strength´s onto their children, hopefully we have passed those strengths to our own children.
