Vincenzo Fabiano

1945 - 2015

Vincenzo Fabiano, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital, with his family by his side on Friday January 23, 2015 at 69 years of age. Vincenzo was born in Chiaravalle, Centrale, Provincia Catanzaro, Italy on July 28, 1945. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 and married Liberata in 1967. Vincenzo worked for The Great Lakes Forest Company (later known as Bowater) for 42 years, until he retired in 2009 due to illness. His greatest enjoyment was work, gardening and spending time outdoors with family and friends. Beloved husband of Liberata Fabiano. Loving father of Maria (Rick) Wildeman of Mount Forest and Theresa (Scott) Langhorn of Elora. Proud and loved Nonno of Vanessa, Benjamin, Athena and Aurora. Vincenzo will be sadly missed by his sister, Chiara Fabiano (Antonio Garieri); brothers Vito (Chiara) Fabiano and Guiseppe (Giuseppina) Fabiano; and his sisters in law, Antonia Fabiano and Concetta Fabiano, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Italy. In Thunder Bay, he will be missed by brother in law Pietro (Liberata) Garieri and family and many cousins and friends. Vincenzo was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Maria (Pitaro) Fabiano; his brothers, Francesco and Giovanni Fabiano, his in laws, Dominic and Teresa (Tino) Garieri and his nephew Antonio Fabiano. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Basilica of Our Lady, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment, Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
