Virve Rependa

Mrs. Virve Rependa passed away peacefully at the age of 85 with friends by her side on Friday, August 3, 2018 after a serious fall. Predeceased by her parents at an early age, her son Paul (the light of her life) in 1988 and husband Sam in 1996. For many years they lived on a hobby farm near Red Rock, and her love and appreciation of all things of nature were second to none. Upon Sam's retirement they relocated to Thunder Bay. She enjoyed living at Red River Towers for years, moving to the Walford two years Ago. Virve had a love of life and was always keen to learn of new things. She loved to travel with friends and would frequent the many restaurants around town for lunch with them. Always up for an adventure, she saw her glass as half-full. She was a no nonsense type of gal and just kept marching on with one foot in front of the other, accepting life as it came. Virve was passionate about nature and could often be seen walking, enjoying the great outdoors and refusing when acquaintances would stop to offer a ride. Virve leaves behind Sam's nephews Mark and Michael Ferrence and families, many special friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Thunder Bay Regional and St Joseph's Hospital 5th floor and Hospice. At Virve's request, there will be no formal funeral. A celebration of life will be held at the Airlane Hotel on Monday, August 13 from 11-1 where you are welcome to come and share stories and remember Virve.
