Vladimir Drakulic Obituary

It is with the deepest of sorrow that the family of Vladimir Drakulic announces his passing on February 12, 2023. Vladimir died peacefully with his family by his side as they comforted him on his final journey to be with the Lord.

Born in 1932 in Vojvodina, Yugoslavia where he served in the navy before immigrating to Toronto Canada in 1958 to be with his brother Mirko, where together they opened a car service garage. Later their entrepreneurial spirit and love of cars brought the brothers to Thunder Bay where they opened a second service garage. Following the death of his brother, Dad became employed at Great Lakes Paper Woodlands Division where he worked as a skidder operator until his retirement in 1996.

In 1975 he married Ljubinka , and together they had a daughter Gordana, who was his joy.

Dad loved cars and owned many great classics over the years. He loved to talk about his various adventures while behind the wheel of one of his classics. Dad enjoyed the outdoors and often took advantage of his downtime in the bush camps to fish and pick berries. Dad took great
pride in the appearance of his lawn and yard and after his retirement he spent many hours a day toiling away to ensure that they were meticulously groomed. Dad had a great sense of humour and would come up with some of the best one liners, which would always make us howl with laughter.

Vladimir is predeceased by his parents Milan and Zorka, his siblings Mirko, Milorad, Slavko, Bosiljka, Milka, Ljubica, and Danica.

Vladimir is survived by his spouse of 48 years Ljubinka (Luba) Drakulic, his daughter Gordana Drakulic Pegg (John) and stepdaughters Raika Velickovic and Nancy Velickovic as well as many nieces and nephews in Serbia.

As per Dad's wishes cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date.
