WALLY VINT Obituary

WALLY VINT
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Wallace (Wally) Vint who left us peacefully at the age of 100 with family and friends by his side. Wally was a beloved father, friend, and cherished member of the Pioneer Ridge family. Wally was a loving, kind soul who embraced life with joy and shared his warmth with everyone he met. Always ready with a smile and a friendly greeting, he had a remarkable ability to brighten the days of those around him. Wally's gentle spirit and generous heart touched countless lives. He found happiness in simple moments and had a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and the beauty of everyday life. Wally is survived by his devoted daughter Maureen, his sister Marguerite and family, his brother Maurice and family, and his beloved friend who was like a son, Mike Perrault. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Wally was predeceased by his loving wife, Geri, his parents, Selina and Thomas Vint, his brother, Alan, and many other family members who were all dear to his heart. For the last five years, Wally called Pioneer Ridge Plaza 2 home. We would like to thank the staff of Plaza 2 as well as all of the amazing staff at Pioneer Ridge. Their incredible care, dedication, and kindness truly enhanced Wally's life and helped us get through this difficult time. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Wally's life will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 at Pioneer Ridge in the Auditorium on the 3rd floor from 2:00-4:00 pm.

My condolences to you and your family. Was this the Wally Vint who descended from Andrew Vint from County Tyrone & Airdrie, Scotland? My grandmother was Matilda Vint, the youngest of the Vint siblings.

Let me start by saying, over the years I lost touch with Wally, my uncle, but that´s my fault and I´ve always regretted it. I only found out about his passing because I was thinking about him and did a google search. When I was young Wally was a bit of a hero to me, I have fond memories of him taking me to Whitefish lake to go fishing . I still have copies of 8mm films he made at our Christmas celebrations in Thunder Bay. My parents and siblings are all gone, and now Wally. He was such a great guy. I think of Wally often and will continue to do so.

So sorry to hear of Wally´s passing. He was such a kind man, a true gentleman and there will be a huge void without him. My family will miss greeting him at Pioneer Ridge when we visit my mother. I wish I could attend his Celebration of Life, but I´ll still be out of town. Maureen, my condolences to you and I wish you comfort as you grieve.

I'm so sorry to hear about Wally. I often saw Wally in the lobby of Pioneer Ridge when I was arriving to visit my father. Wally always stopped and chatted. He was always so positive. Everyone seemed to know Wally. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. My deepest condolences to his family.
