WAYNE FAULCONER Obituary

FAULCONER
Wayne Faulconer, 78, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2025.

Born on May 12, 1947, in Keewatin, Ontario, Wayne grew up in a musical family filled with fiddlers and lively family jams, which sparked a lifelong love of music. He went on to start his own bands, became part of the vibrant Winnipeg music scene, and toured across Canada.

He eventually relocated to Thunder Bay, where he enjoyed a prolific performing career with groups including the Jarvis Street Review, Stoneridge, and the Wayne Faulconer Band. His song Sweet Eyed Satin Lady was nominated for Canadian Country Music Awards in 1981 for Outstanding Vocal Performance and Single of The Year. In 1982 Wayne's band StoneRidge was nominated for Canadian Country Group of the year. Wayne was widely regarded as a respected musician and an elder of the Thunder Bay music community.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Wayne was a talented electrician, alarm-system specialist, and sound technician. He worked for many years at Miskelly's Electronics before founding his own company, W.F. Comspec.

He is survived by his daughter, Casandra Faulconer, along with extended family members and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Details for a memorial service will be announced once finalized and are expected to take place in February.

Memorials to the Northern Cardiac Fund at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital would be appreciated.

I played with Wayne in different bands over the years in Kenora, Vancouver, Winnipeg . He was an absolute joy to share music with. We both put music first and he could nail the feel of the music in one bar and always said it's the feel that makes MUSIC, I loved him and he will be Sorley missed

Dennis and I are sorry to hear about Wayne's death. Our condolences to his grieving family. I read somewhere that when someone dies "a whole passes away". This is so true. Wayne leaves a legacy of music, kindness and solitude. May he rest in piece as we continue to remember. Adelina Pecchia and Dennis Pringle, currently from the beaches of Long Island Sound
