Wayne McLellan Obituary
Wayne passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at age 70. Survived by his mother Eleanor Towers, Wayne was the loving father of two sons - Michael (Martha) and Sean (Kim), and proud 'Poppa' to five grandchildren - Alexa (5), Jessica (4), Charlie (3), Madison (2) and Brooks (1). Also survived by Michael and Sean's mother Maureen McLellan, and cousins Blayne Stuart and Terry Berard. Wayne was born on April 9, 1940 in North Bay ON. Graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1962 with a degree in Civil Engineering, and also obtained a Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1967. Skiing with his family at Loch Lomond in the winter, sailing "Serendipity", "Ookpik", and "Sand Dollar", and being with his family at camp on Lake Superior were his passions. Wayne was a very special person - he was loved by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humour and was a gentle man, and a gentleman. Wayne will be greatly missed. A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 2 - 4pm at the Prince Arthur Hotel, 17 Cumberland St. N. in Thunder Bay. Rev. J Michael Varrin presiding. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated. "
