It is in great sadness that the family announces the death of Harold Wayne, "Wayne" or better known as "Ozzie", Osmar, age 65, of Thunder Bay (Port Arthur). He passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning, April 8, 2022.
Ozzie, who was known for his over-the-top work ethic was employed for twenty-five years at Provincial Papers Mill. Here he worked countless overtime hours, giving up days off to meet the demands of the job. When the mill closed in 2007, Ozzie continued to work odd jobs until he landed a job at Twin City Refreshments, where his employers were not just "wowed" by how hard he worked but clients reveled in their deliveries. Ozzie's charismatic personality and good nature was noted by local and out of town clients. Currently, Ozzie was working for Lac Des Iles Mine, again working as many hours as needed and fulfilling any role required. During his time at the mine, it was a joy for him to be working alongside his son, for whom he had much respect.
As much as work was important to Ozzie, he also made time to volunteer for the Kiwanis of Thunder Bay, of which he was a member. Many Christmases he could be found selling trees at the Christmas Tree lot at the CLE grounds. While Ozzie had many interests, golf was certainly his favorite. Ozzie spent hours on the golf range and for years relished in annual golf trips with friends. If he wasn't playing golf, if possible, he was watching golf.
Of course, Ozzie's friends and family played a central role is Ozzie's life too. He was a dependable, generous, and loving husband to his partner of over twenty years, Patricia Peters. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren, golfing outdoors or puttering in the basement. Ozzie was always happy to spend time with his daughter Trista, and his beautiful granddaughters, all of whom he loved dearly. Ozzie is survived by partner Patricia Peters, his daughter Jamie Osmar, son Tyler Osmar (Angelica), and daughter Trista Osmar; grandchildren Jacob, Brooklynn, Ethan, Tristen, Peyton, Luisa, Abigail, Leah, Harper, Paisley, and great granddaughter Adrianna; his sister Cynthia (Al) Jamik and sister Patricia (Earl) Osmar-Hartlin and nephew Joshua and niece Sara, and brother Christopher Osmar.
Ozzie is predeceased by his mother Helen and father Harold, sisters Deborah (Edwin) Sohlman and Laura Osmar.

My condolences and prayers for all of Wayne's family and friends. Oz was one of my favourite people I met while I lived in Thunder Bay. I loved spending time on the course with him and always looked forward to our rounds together. I´m glad I got to know Ozzie and I´m a better person for it.

My condolences and prayers for all of Wayne's family and friends; he was taken too soon. I worked with Wayne many years ago at Provincial. We lost touch when I moved to Toronto but I will always treasure my memories of him.

It was a great honor to work with him for the last year and a half at LDI. I will never forget his contagious laugh and smile. He made an impact on my life I will forever carry with me. There was never a day he didn't make me laugh, and the constant words of encouragement when I was feeling low. My heart is heavy, and work will never be the same. I will always keep him in my heart.
You will be forever missed
