GUARASCI 1956 - 2025
Mrs. Wendy Marie Guarasci (Willianen), aged 68 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with family by her side.
Wendy was born on April 9, 1956 in Fort William, Ontario. She worked for Crooks Pharmacy until a year after being married to the love of her life, Joseph Guarasci. They were married on May 13, 1978, celebrating 46 years of marriage. She remained focused on being a wife and a mother and devoted her time to her children, grandchildren, and beloved pets.
Wendy enjoyed her childhood days spending summers at the family camp on Pebbly Beach. Time was spent with her siblings and friends growing up. She was always up for a card game of canasta or 9-5-2 and she was ready for the challenge of a game of Scrabble with her siblings or with her best friend Donna. She loved her puppy cuddles from her devoted pets. Being a wife, mother, grandmother was her entire focus.
Wendy was a fighter and faced the many health issues thrown at her with Joe by her side day and night through it all. He was her rock and her strength.
Wendy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Joseph; daughter Valarie (Rock); son Michael (Caitlin); grandchildren Benjamin and Samantha; siblings Darlene, Sherry, Janice (Jim), Rick (Sharon) and sister-in-law Yolanda (Al) as well as numerous nieces and nephews who pride themselves on being a very close-knit family, along with her best friend Donna. She will also be missed by all her grand dogs.
She was predeceased by her infant daughter Michelle; parents Reino and Marie Willianen; brother-in-laws Don Smeaton, Tim Oikonen and Frank Guarasci; in-laws Antonio and Maria Guarasci and her loving pets Honey and Shady.
A Celebration of Wendy's Life will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Harbourview Funeral Centre at 11:00 a.m. We respectfully request a private service for family and close friends.
