WILLIAM BURKE Obituary

WILLIAM HENRY BURKE November 16, 1932 - February 20, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of William announces his passing on February 20, 2026 at the age of 93.

Bill was born in Rivers Manitoba, raised in Brandon, Manitoba (where he met Grace) and eventually settled in Thunder Bay at their home on Redwood Avenue. Bill began his career in the grocery business in Brandon, retiring from MacDonalds Consolidated in 1996. He enjoyed many years curling at the FWCC, was an avid golfer and spent many hours working in his garden. He also enjoyed his annual fishing trip to Onaman Lake. Bill was a man of few words who took great pride in his family.

Bill will be greatly missed by his wife, Grace, who would have celebrated their 69th anniversary this June; his four children: Denise Adams (Brian), Neil (Lisa), Darren (Gillian) and Corey (Sandra); grandchildren: Brennan (Sarah), Jenna (Matt), Julia (Matt), Teah, Alyssa, Mark (Chloe), Joel, Jason, Brittany and Kayla; and many great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Sharon (Alan) and Ruth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Russell, brother Edward (Edna) and sisters, Margaret (Dick) and Mary Janet.

Over the years, great times were had with long time friends, Milan and Jackie Thierry, Aubrey and Dee Watson, and Howard and Louella Holland.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff who cared for "Will" at Southbridge Pinewood (HB) where he resided for the last few years.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the summer when the family can gather.
