William Colosimo Obituary

It is with deep sadness and regret that the family announces the loss of a husband, father, grandfather and friend. William "Bill" Colosimo passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at his residence. Bill was born in Fort William, Ontario on May 13, 1931 to Frank and Emma Colosimo. Bill married Rose O'Gorman on April 30th, 1950 and would be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this April. As a lifetime resident of Thunder Bay, Bill was involved in a variety of activities and business ventures: one of which was The Lakehead Exhibition Race Track, as a member of the pit crew for Louie Tocheri "Bob Cat #19". His passion for fast cars, lead to his future hobby for late model car racing, the sponsorships of racers at Riverview Raceways as well as an enthusiastic Nascar fan. Bill and Rose travelled for years to Daytona, Florida to cheer on their favourite racers! Bill also enjoyed many years of skiing with friends and family at local mountains and also loved to go hunting with the gang! After being employed at Great Lakes and Coopers Trucking, Bill found a new life venture; the owning and operating of Uncle Frank's Supper Club which became the pride and joy of Bill's life. He enjoyed spending many hours painting the fences, rocks and all the handles on his shovels and tools. He spent many hours working at the restaurant and making sure his staff was always "on the ball". He was supportive and generous to friends, employees and especially his family, always making the time to spend with them. He was also proud of his children and grandchildren's accomplishments. Bill is survived by his wife Rose, daughters Susan Pugliese (Mark), Willy Lacey (Lorne) and Emma Colosimo - Hall (Billy), grandchildren, Billy Pugliese (Tara) of Omaha, Nebraska, Jolene Pearen (Ricky), Cheri Prior (Troy) of North Bay, Ontario, Katelyn Lacey (Kris McNeil), Kayla Hall, Australia and three great grandchildren, Ava, Leah and William Pugliese of Omaha, Nebraska. Also surviving are sisters Norine Carroll and Jean Colosimo and brother Donald Colosimo (Denise), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Emma Colosimo, brother Frankie Colosimo, brothers-in-law Larry Carroll, Dan O'Gorman, Casey O'Gorman, Ernie Ostrum and sister-in-law Nora Ostrum. Cremation has taken place and Vigil prayers will follow on Friday, March 12, 2010 in Blake Funeral Chapel at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 13, 2010 when family and friends can gather at Holy Family Church, 2055 Rosslyn Road at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev.
