William Feaver Obituary

William ("Bill") Feaver, passed away on April 28, 2025 at the age of 87 years.

Survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria (nee Greer); daughter Michele (Andy); and son Norman (Janet).

Predeceased by his parents William and Georgina, sister Marjorie Andrew and brother Henry "Hank" Feaver.

Bill grew up in Vickers Heights, tipping outhouses with his brother and playing in the cemetery - which sometimes included putting a white sheet on the family horse and running it between the headstones to the amusement (and shock) of those paying respect to their loved ones.

Bill spent most of his work life with what was then Great Lakes Forest Products, primarily as a scaler and then working in the office. He retired in the mid-90's and enjoyed a long and busy retirement.

From camping in the trailer, to sites at Upper Shebandowan and Whitefish, Bill enjoyed camping and fishing. He sometimes even caught fish!

If you knew Bill, you knew that he always went out of his way to help others. He gave freely, and only accepted help grudgingly. Whether volunteering with the Children's Aid, 55 Plus, or Habitat for Humanity - he was often found doing something, for someone.

He and Gloria also thoroughly enjoyed gardening, and travelling South when it was particularly cold in January/February.
Bill was also known for his thriftiness, and often proudly boasted about the "deals" he got. He loved playing cards and was rarely bested at cribbage. We still think some "creative" dealing may have been the reason for that!

A very special thanks to niece Lori Feaver and neighbour Narci Dolcetti, who provided so much help, companionship, and love - particularly in the past few years to both Bill and Gloria.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

Donations in Bill's name may be made to Habitat for Humanity. For those who wish to express condolences in writing, they may be sent c/o 5051 Sideroad 25, Ramara, ON L3V 0T1.

Sincerest condolences to Gloria and family. My late husband Renato and myself enjoyed working with Bill at the mill (formerly Great Lakes Forest Products).
