William Harri Obituary

– Murphy Lake

Bill went home to his Lord, peacefully at home, on October 28, 2021. He was born on April 2, 1938, in the former Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario. As a young adult, Bill joined the military serving at HMCS, Shearwater, NS and it was there he met his wife, Barbara J. Stevens. They returned and resided in Thunder Bay for 36 years, raising two sons, Steven and Chris. Bill spent 35 years in funeral service with Jenkins Funeral Home and Blakes Funeral Chapel, retiring to Murphy Lake in the Annapolis Valley, NS. He spent many summers back in Thunder Bay fishing with family and friends at Watershed and Squires lakes and at the family camp on Arrow Lake. Bill's family devoted many years with their church family at Calvary Lutheran in Thunder Bay and following their move to NS, continued church fellowship at South Alton Baptist Church. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; sister-in-law, Ann Arsenault; two sons, Steven (Christine) and Christopher (Megan); and grandchildren, Brennan, Stephanie Rioux (Mike), Cameron and Isabel. He was predeceased by his parents, Martha and William W. Harri; sisters, Darlene Grinstead and Mabel Waldron; as well as in-laws, Bertha and Bert Stevens from Musquodobit Harbour, NS; and sister-in-law, Shirley Barber. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service and interment will take place in Nolalu Cemetery, Thunder Bay, at a later date. Donations in Bill's memory to the Canadian Red Cross or your local food bank would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com

Our sincere condolences to the Harri family. Bill was well respected and quite the gentleman and handyman. Still have fond memories of family visits to the farm in Nolalu and going to the LU swimming pool. Our thoughts are with you.
