Mr. William (Bill) Cornelius McGuire, age 74, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2018 (night of the Hunter's Moon) with family by his side.
Bill was born on May 31st, 1944 in Sudbury, Ontario and was a proud and active member of the Metis Nation of Ontario. Of many achievements throughout his life, the most notable was the rearing of his daughter Dr. Catherine McGuire, of which he exuded much pride. A quiet and private person, Bill loved spending time with family and friends as well as enjoying time in the wilderness fishing and hunting. He was a collector of many rare and unique items. He had a big heart and loved children and his pets. Bill worked as a mechanic, high rigger and was logging until his retirement in 2009.
Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Beverley (Wandell), daughters Dr. Catherine McGuire and Ashley Gagnon (Brad), grandsons Sean, Kale, and Devan Barrie. Also remembered by his brothers Patrick and Philip of Red Rock, Ron of London, ON, Richard, Walter Taylor and sister Shirley Suddaby of Thunder Bay. As well as, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Bill was predeceased by his son Ricky, brother James, and parents James and Loretta (Gascon).
A celebration of Bill's life will take place on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 at 12:00 NOON in the chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Rev. Luigi Filippini of St. Anthony's R.C. Church. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service.
Donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Indigenous Women's Fund of Canada.

I'm sorry for your loss.
You were a good friend Bill. I will miss you and your sense of humor. No matter how upset or angry I was you always had a way to make me laugh and look at things differently.

To Bill, a dear, amazing and kind friend! You will be missed very much by so many people Bill. You are truly a caring man who always saw the good in everyone, thank you for everything you have done for myself as well as my family (mom, step dad & brother).
