William John "Bill" Moon Jr.

1947 - 2016

Mr. William “Bill” John Moon Jr., age 69 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, April 23, 2016.

Bill was born on April 2, 1947 in St. Catharines, Ontario to William and Pauline Moon and was raised with two sisters and one brother. He married Denise on December 29, 1971 in Terrace Bay and they raised two great kids. Bill was employed as a Stationary Engineer for many years, until retirement. He volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity and other community builds through the Home Depot. Bill had a passion for hockey, fishing, woodworking and drag-racing. Bill's family was his greatest joy and he enjoyed spending time with all of them. In recent years, he shared many happy moments with his common-law partner, Ruth Fraser and her family.

Bill is survived by his children Paula and Jayson (Krystal) and grandchildren Kaiya, Ava and Cole; his spouse Ruth Fraser as well as her children Tabatha, Rachel, Adam and grandchildren Mackenzie and Aiden. He is also survived by his siblings Marilyn (Ed) Chicoine, Kathy (John) Best and Paul (Patti) Moon and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife, Denise; his parents, Bill and Pauline Moon; father-in-law Paul and nephew James Davis.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, Thunder Bay. For those in Terrace Bay, the Celebration of Bill's Life will continue on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Michael King Hall, Terrace Bay.
