Mr. William James Ross, age 81 years resident of Thunder Bay passed away January 29 after a brief illness with his family by his side. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, from fishing to gardening he truly enjoyed life. Affectionately known as "Stamps" by his grandchildren, he loved to have everyone over for a big family spaghetti dinners. He was raised and educated in Thunder Bay and was a machinist by trade until retirement in 1990 from Canadian Pacific Forest Products (Great Lakes Paper) as Machine Shop Supervisor. He will be sadly missed by his wife June, children Anthony, Cathy (Brian), Susan (Dave), John (Debbie), Nancy Murie, Judy (Marc) Landry and David (Patricia) Murie. Also survived by brothers Gordon (Pat) Ross, John (Sonya) Ross and sisters-in-law Rita Ross and Lorna Young plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Myrtle Ross and brother Norman Ross. Cremation has taken place and as per Jim's request, there will be no service. Special thanks to Garth and Linda McGinnis, Dr. Habjan, Dr Miller and the cancer team for their support, caring and guidance to the family during this difficult time.
