STAN WEGNEROWICZ Obituary
August 5, 1918 – April 18, 2018
Stan Guy Wegnerowicz passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 18, 2018, after living 99 years of life to the fullest.
Stan was born in Poland, August 5, 1918. With his Dad being a diplomat, Stan travelled
extensively throughout his youth, living many years in France and Italy. As a young
man, Stan attended military school for five years, training to be an Industrial Engineer.
When World War II began he enlisted in the Polish army. Stan was injured while on
active duty and could no longer serve so he went to be with his mother and father who
had both retired in Montreal, Canada. Stan spent many years working in Montreal as a
Industrial Engineer.
From Montreal Stan moved to Calgary and Vancouver. Stan worked at TRIUMF at UBC before retiring on the Sunshine Coast. Stan had a love for all things, and he was often accompanied by his faithful cat or dog.
Stan was residing at The Good Samaritan Society, Christenson Village in Gibsons, BC
before he went to be with his father in heaven.
Special thanks for their endless efforts to keep Stan comfortable, safe, and happy:
Dr. Forgie, Dr. Bryson, Dr. Stinson, Cindy, Karen, Nandine, the exceptional Care Aides,
LPNs, RNs, RPNs, housekeepers, kitchen staff, physiotherapist, and administrative
staff of Christenson Village. Thank you for your constant expertise, love and care.
Thank you to everyone who knew Stan, for all your love and support. Stan is up in
heaven praying to everyone, do not be sad, love each other, and live each day to the fullest.
God Bless Everyone
