Allen Falk Obituary
Allen passed away peacefully on 13 December 2025 at 11:15 pm, surrounded by his family. Allen spent his last three days at Irene Thomas Hospice near his home in Ladner, BC. He received the kindness and care he gave to so many others as he drew his last breath.
Allen was born on 29 November 1941 in Abbotsford, BC, to his parents, David and Helen (Lepp) Falk. Allen was the oldest in the family, and his siblings followed: Betty, born in 1944; Jerry, born in 1945; and David, born in 1955. Allen attended school in Abbotsford with many cousins who all lived on farms on Huntingdon Road. Allen worked with his father, mother, and siblings to run the farm. Allen often spoke of the life lessons in industrious labour learned from his parents.
At a young age, while living on the farm, Allen accomplished his life goal, at the time, to learn to drive. Allen learned to drive on the farm and also for his Uncle George at Lepp Trucking. Allen told many stories of the adventures behind the wheel of a dump truck. His love for driving was evident throughout his life. Even returning to truck driving during a long labour strike at Canadian Pacific Airlines to support his family.
Allen attended Mennonite Educational Institute in Abbotsford, BC, for high school, where he met the love of his life, Delores Penner. Delores and Allen were married on 22 December 1962. Shortly after their marriage, Allen completed his Aeronautic Maintenance Engineer training at BCIT. A long and rewarding relationship was started with Canadian Pacific Airlines in July 1964 and continued until 1 November 2001, when Allen retired after 37 years of service. Allen enjoyed a challenge and took on the roles of Chief Mechanic, Supervisor in the Maintenance Centre, and eventually Manager of Maintenance Operations.
Prior to moving to Ladner in 1969, where he lived until his passing, the family grew in 1966 with the addition of a daughter, Christine Helen, and grew again in 1969 with the birth of a son, Trevor Allen. Christian faith was important to Allen, and the family attended Ladner Baptist Church for the first 10 years in Ladner, where the couple nurtured and supported the Youth Group. Allen and Delores were one of the founding families of Cedar Park Church. Allen was deeply involved and committed to the work and opportunities his new church home provided.
Allen took part in sporting events and activities of all kinds. Golfing, attending Canucks and BC Lions games, and many sporting events and performances of his grandchildren filled his spare time. Allen and Delores revelled in travel within Canada, Europe, America, Australia, and Asia. Allen spent many hours in his garden, creating a beautiful environment outside for friends and family to enjoy.
Allen's kind, generous, and helpful spirit will be missed by all who met and knew him.
Allen is predeceased by his parents and brother Jerry. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Delores; daughter Christine (Richard); son Trevor (Jennifer); and grandchildren Mackenzie (Olivia), Theo, and Madison. Allen is also survived by his sister Betty (Peter) Hooge and his brother David (Pat) Falk.
