Andrew Farnell Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share in the passing of our Dad, Andrew William Farnell, on March 18, 2024.

Andy was predeceased by his wife, Lesley Farnell. He is survived by his daughters Kristina (Jamie), Jennifer, and Amanda (Geoff); grandchildren Belle, Charlie, Sophie, Tyler, Olivia, Ava, and Kamryn; sisters Nancy (Joe) and Joan (Peter); and his cousins, nieces and nephews.

Andy was born in Vernon on June 6, 1943, and grew up in East End Vancouver on Kitchener Street. He met and married Lesley in 1965 and moved to Ladner in 1971, where they raised their three daughters. The house was a hot spot for family gatherings, countless parties, and multiple weddings.

Our dad was known for his humour and charm. Papa was King. His love of family, friends, sports, and tomatoes will be remembered in our hearts always.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on May 25, 2024, at Ladner Baptist Church, 5624 Ladner Trunk Road.

I was honoured to have had Andy as a friend. Words alone cannot describe how much I shall continue to miss him-as will his family, relatives, and other friends.

I shall miss his soft voice asking me: "Al would you like some tomatoes?"

More than anything else, though, Andy kept me up-to-date on the goings-on of our mutual friends. His friendship, simply stated, will be irreplaceable!

Rest in peace Andy, and give Buddy a big hug and a scratch under his chin for me.

Al Basile, Ladner, B.C.
