Arlene PRIBULA Obituary
PRIBULA, Arlene
Arlene Pribula passed away peacefully at Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner, B.C. on February 6th, 2024. She was 86 years old. Arlene is survived by her son Mark, her daughter-in law Melissa and her two grandchildren, Isabelle and Jackson.
Arlene was born in Edmonton, Alberta and grew up on a farm. She eventually moved to Westlock, Alberta where her family took roots. Her mother (Erna) and father (Adolph) had five children and they grew up a happy hard-working family. When Arlene became an adult, she left Westlock with her girlfriends and headed to Jasper, Alberta, which eventually brought her to Vancouver where she met her husband, Bill. Bill and Arlene were married for almost 40 years until Bill's death in 2005. In 1969, Arlene and Bill adopted their son Mark William and settled in Richmond, BC where they lived for 25 years. After retiring, they moved to Tsawwassen, BC where they both lived out their days. Arlene had many jobs but her two favorites were being a hostess at Hy's restaurant, and meeting many famous celebrities and sports heroes, and working in payroll at the Richmond School Board where she made great life-long friends. Arlene had many interests including golf, travel, dining with friends, volunteering at Variety Club and occasionally hitting the casino. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses that have cared for Arlene over the last few months and a special thanks to Irene Thomas Hospice that took such great care of her for the last part of her life.
Arlene's Celebration of Life is being held on Friday, February 16th at Red Barn in Southlands at 6333 Market Avenue, Delta, BC from 2pm to 4 pm.
