BRUBACHER Adeline Joan

1930 - 2022

BRUBACHER, Adeline Joan (Sherrell) Adeline Joan (Sherrell) Brubacher entered her Heavenly Home on July 14, 2022, at the age of 92 at Kin Village in Tsawwassen where she had been living for the past 5 1/2 years. Adeline was born June 25, 1930 and was the oldest child of Samuel and Emmeline Sherrell. Two brothers followed, Roy and Albert. Adeline grew up in Ladner and lived out most of her life there. She was very thrilled to be the May princess one year. She completed grade 11 at Delta Secondary before taking her LPN in Vancouver. She especially enjoyed her practicum at Grace Hospital caring for the newborn babies. On June 9, 1950, she married the love of her life, Abraham Brubacher and together they enjoyed more than 67 years of marriage. They were blessed with 5 children, losing one as a child from a heart defect. Adeline loved the Lord with all her heart and accepted Him into her life at a young age. She was baptized and joined Ladner Baptist while growing up and later she and Abe were very involved in Ladner Baptist Church for many years. Adeline opened her own flower shop, Evergreen Florist in their home in 1972 and enjoyed floral work until retiring in 1989, making many friends while serving her customers. She also loved to garden, put up preserves for the winter months, bake, cook and entertain. The Brubacher home was a welcoming oasis for many missionaries, friends and of course, family. Sunday roast beef dinners, fresh bread and fruit pies were her specialities. Mom also loved to travel and made a memorable trip across Canada and into the States with Dad and their friends, several trips to England to visit family and a special trip to Romania with Mary to bring an adopted granddaughter home. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Abe in 2017, her son Paul in 1960, her parents and her brothers Roy and Albert. She is survived by her children David (Gloria), Joy (David) Holliday, Janet and John (Mary). She is also survived by 7 grand-children and 11 great grandchildren.
