Christopher Kirkland Obituary
It's with great sadness we announce the passing of Christopher Kirkland Oct. 08, 2014 at the age of 57 in Edmonton AB, born in New Westminster, raised in Ladner B.C.
Predeceased by his parents Lloyd Kirkland Aug. 02, 1986 and Mary (Pat) Patterson Jan. 09, 2000.
Left to treasure his memory is his beloved son James Eustis (Manchi), and his loving partner Patricia Balkenstein. Much loved sisters, Gail Dressel (Henry), Kari Poirier (Emile), brothers Barrie Kirkland (Judi), John Kirkland (Shirlee), Donald Kirkland (Olga) and Gregory Kirkland ( Brent).
Chris was blessed with and will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He got great joy in the many casual evenings spent with wonderful supportive friends Brad (Louise), Gino (Sara) and Paul (Karen).
Chris's accomplishments were numerous and his adventurous nature and entrepreneurial skills started in his youth in Ladner and extended to Alberta. He discovered the incredible satisfaction inherent with fixing and solving problems others could not. Chris had a passion and dedication in everything he did and was a "Get it done" kind of guy, known for thinking outside the box whether working his own business or in his final role as Maintenance Manager (Thermex Heat Treating).
Chris was appreciative for the simple things in life that were evident in his good natured humour. He found it most rewarding when he could tackle projects, big or small and see others appreciate his work. His knowledge on a multitude of subjects always guaranteed interesting and lively conversations.
In honor of Chris's request of no formal service please join us at Doyle's Pub (2619 151 Ave N.W. ) on Oct. 25, 2014, between (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) to celebrate all he accomplished and honour him as he had lived.
