Clive GALLAGER Obituary
GALLAGER, Clive Charles
August 29, 1931 - December 4, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. Surrounded by his loving family, Clive passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his loving wife Bev of 58 years and survived by daughters Tracy (Ed), Janice (Mike), grandchildren, Scott, Amanda and Richard, brother Trevor, brother-in-law Rick (Heidi) plus many nieces and nephews.
Clive was born in Bhusawal, Maharashtra, India and was the eldest of 4 children. While in his teens, the family relocated to Perth, Australia and at 25, he and a close friend embarked on an overseas adventure to Canada.
A short time later, he met and fell in love with his future wife Bev and they moved to Richmond. They raised their two daughters with endless love, support and encouragement. He adored his grandchildren, attending their sporting, school and community events and caring for them while their parents worked. He enjoyed playing mahjong with family and friends and was an avid BC Lions fan, following them faithfully.
After retiring from Canadian Airlines in 1994, he and Bev moved to Surrey and then Ladner to be closer to family.
Determined to be as independent as possible, he lived in his home, with support, until he was moved to hospice in his final days. We will miss his witty one-liners, steadfast support, caring nature and long conversations about anything and everything. You will be forever in our hearts Dad, rest in peace.
Thanks to the staff at the Irene Thomas Hospice for their dedicated care in the last days of his life. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 2:00 at the Ladner United Church.
