Colleen Mathieson

July 12, 1955 - May 20, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colleen Elizabeth Mathieson, aged 68, on May 20, 2024. Colleen was born on July 12, 1955, in New Westminster, British Columbia, to Elizabeth Murphy (predeceased) and Edward Murphy (predeceased).

Colleen was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She is survived by her daughters Lisa and Shauna (Kevin); sisters Theresa (Ken), Cecelia (Chuck), Denise (Michael), and Colette (Leo); brother Ted (Kim); and many nieces and nephews.

Throughout Colleen's six-year battle with cancer, she showed endless resiliency and strength. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and kind and caring nature. Colleen cherished her time by the water, enjoyed making memories with family and friends, and loved the companionship of her furry friend, Charlie. She found joy in picnics, watching hockey, reading, and going on long walks, relishing the simple pleasures of life.

Colleen will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

In honour of Colleen's memory, donations can be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada, a cause close to her heart.

A private celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
