Daniel KNIGHT Obituary

KNIGHT, Daniel Patrick February 2, 1942 - March 24, 2017 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dan after a lengthy battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father T.L Knight, his mother Ethelmary and his older brother Tom. Survived by the love of his life Gail, daughter Glenda Scott (Rob), son Daren Knight (Jennifer), four adoring grandchildren: Derek, Taylor, Jacob and Sidney and brother Len Knight (Sheila) as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Dan had a very fulfilling 33 year career at Trans Mtn Pipeline making many great friends. Dad enjoyed playing and coaching baseball and fast pitch, was an avid Canucks fan and liked to golf and fish. Most of all he truly loved his family and was blessed with a wonderful sense of humour and a quick wit. You will be very much missed Dad, we love you! Dad ....am missing you this time of year especially. Would love to tip a beer and discuss the MLB playoffs. Some pretty crappy management decisions during the playoffs.... lol , you always knew how to critique a game and try to manage it yourself. I miss that... your Canucks are a .500 Team, but alas it's only five games in. I love you Dad

Gail and family
I was sorry to hear from Glenn Irving recently that Dan had passed. Margaret and I were on holiday in the US until May 7 and could not attend the celebration of life. Dan was a great employee at Trans Mountain and went about his work with a positive attitude. As I recall one of his last assignments was as Operations Supervisor in Washington State where his knowledge of how the operation needed to work greatly improved the place. Trans Mountain was a better company as a result of Dan's efforts.

Please accept our sincere simpathy for your loss.

Dad ... where to start ? You were the best. I miss the conversations, the advice ( mostly lol) and watching a golf major , or a playoff baseball game or even a Canucks game. They really suck now by the way but I digress. Most of all I miss your voice, your passion and just chin wagging on the phone. I couldn't have asked for a better role model. We all miss you Dad. We'll do you proud on May 6.
