David GILBERT Obituary

GILBERT, David Philip July 10th, 1943 - April 2nd, 2022 With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of my dear husband, David Philip Gilbert. He was a warm and loving husband, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. David was born to Elsie and Wilfred Gilbert July 10th, 1943. He was predeceased by his Mother, Father and his brother, John. He is survived by his wife Shan, sister-in-law Heather, niece Aynsley, nephew MacLaren (Linh Tran), cousin Heather Raybould (Stuart), sister-in-law Margaret. He will also be missed by his Godchildren. David grew up in Burnaby and went to Burnaby North High School. He led a quiet life, was a sign Salesman for many years and spent the last 20 years on a Float Home in Canoe Pass Village (Ladner) with his wife of 37 years, Shan. He was always patient and had a great sense of humour. His quick wit will be missed. David loved his cat, Skilly, who passed away at 7, November 28th and is now greeting him in Heaven with her tail up high and curled. David loved animals so in lieu of flowers, please send donations to RAPS Adoption center or DCAS Delta Community Animal Shelter. David found comfort in going to church. He loved Gospel Music and enjoyed going to the Ladner Gospel Assembly. Donations welcome in his memory. David will be greatly missed and is now in Heaven singing his favourite Gospel songs, he had a wonderful voice. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date.
