I had the great fortune to meet Dave when I was a 12 year old pool rat at Briarwood Pool in Pierrefonds QC. His genuine kindness, sense of humour and vitality were memorable and stay with me to this day. Our paths crossed repeatedly over the following years through the Y system, at John Abbott where he convinced me to keep playing football and to always work on balance in life.

May his memory be a blessing to all

I met Dave in Beijing at the school I was teaching at. I´ve met many teachers, but Dave was a teachers teacher. I´m so grateful for having known him for the short period of time I did.

Dave was my mentor and friend. He believed in me and always tried to build my confidence as a teacher and leader. He was a dear friend who I always went to for advice.

He was my principal at Zhongtian Beijing Primary School in Guiyang. That's how I met him. We hit it off right away and had a wonderful work relationship. We used to go out to dinner where we would talk about the good things in life. He was a great man. I will miss him!

The "HIT" at McGill! Twenty years together on the sidelines coaching the Raiders to multiple championships! And your infectious laugh I will never forget. Good bye Coach-till we are given our next coaching assignment!

Sincere condolences to Dave's entire family. I have many fond memories of him and football, he was a monster on the field and a great teammate. He and his family welcomed Herb DeBray into their home in Ste Anne's when we moved out of residence (I moved in with Geoff Pratt and his family), both families treated us as their own! On a further very sad note, Herb passed away just days after Dave, after a fall down stairs at his house. Two fine gentlemen :(

Our first encounter was in Springfield, Mass. when the intramural hockey team from McGill rented a bus to play an exhibition game against a bunch of expatriot has-beens. When I moved from New Brunswick in the summer of 1971, Dave and I shared a Townhouse in Pointe-Claire for two years It was the start of a strong and valued friendship that saw us exchange Christmas and Birthday wishes for the next 50 plus years. Whenever he came to Montreal, he always asked if there was a room available at the Cyr Casa for the length of his stay and he did the same for the upcoming class reunion. How I miss hearing him call me "Framboise"....! Our sincere condolences to the family. Barb and Guy Cyr

Our hearts go out to the Norcott family! Dave was a great friend. When I came to Mac high to start grade 9, Norc was first to welcome me. It was a blast to have him as a teammate in hockey and football. Dave loved to compete! I´ll forever remember fondly our laughs rooming together at McGill, and a backpack trip to Europe. Dave, and the Norcott family had a huge impact in my life, so grateful!

My most sincere condolencess to the Norcott family. Dave was a cherished friend to both my husband Bill, and myself. We all attended Macdonald College and McGill University together and kept in touch on a regular basis. Time spent with Dave meant sharing happy memories, lots of laughs and interesting stories, especially those involving football practices at McGill stadium. He was a proud father, who loved talking to us about his three children and their accomplishments. You will be missed my friend, rest in peace.

Dave and I grew up together in the village of Ste. Anne de Bellevue, many fond memories of Dave, Cee Legault, Bruce Skilling and I watching Wide World of Sports on a Saturday afternoon. We grew apart after we left high school and went on to university, but it was a great time to be a kid. Dave will be missed, my deepest condolences

Our condolences to the Norcott family. I hold many fond memories and connections with the Norcott family. Attended Mount Allison University with Mike and met Dave at McGill university. Dave then worked with me at the pools where he provided strong leadership to the younger staff. I spent many a good fun times at the Norcott home. Dave had the ability to make us laugh with his good energy, humor, and spirit. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Dave. Paul and Toni Taylor-Cappelli
