Blackie was a good man, a caring friend, seemed to love new adventures, to be a teacher.

When we moved to Ladysmith in 2011, Blackie and Iris were our neighbors. Blackie monitored our house construction and welcomed us warmly, sharing chats in the backyard and meals hosted by Iris. He was fond of our little white dog, Daisy and preferred she stay with him when we went out, so she wouldn´t be home alone. Cats and dog tolerated each other. In the early years, he spent hours puttering in the garden or removing clover from their lawn. I recall he enjoyed Sunday afternoon matinees at The Chemainus Theatre, and going out for Chinese Food other Sunday evenings. You have been missed on Clifcoe Street, Blackie, Rest in Peace.

Frank was the medical officer of the 15th Field Artillery Regiment in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was an amiable companion.

Dear Uncle Francis (Sir)!
We'll remember you from our younger years by your humour and the long drives to Alberta to pick us up in your van. In your later years for your fondness of your cats and of our children! Here is a painting my sister did when the kitties were little.
Rest in peace.

We remember you, Blackie, for the many things, especially the cruises, that we did together. Rest in Peace.
