It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gail Lust (nee Duke) on Friday, March 3, 2023.
Gail was a devoted wife, mom and nana who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity and unwavering love. Born and raised in Humboldt, Sask., to a close-knit family of eleven, Gail became an accomplished figure skater and certified coach.
Gail cherished family above all else. She was a loving and supportive wife, a proud mom who was an active part of her children's lives and a doting nana who adored (and spoiled) her grandsons.
Of course, we must mention her doggie O.P., best friends for 14 years. We can only imagine how much fun they are having together now.
Gail dedicated her life to helping others while working at the Psychiatry Unit-Burnaby Hospital. She had a passion for work and was well-respected by her colleagues for her kind and compassionate nature.
The family is grateful for the care she received from all her doctors and supporting staff. A special thank you to oncologist Dr. Cheryl Ho for 10 years of compassionate care. You have our entire family's gratitude and respect.
Gail is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard; children Tracy (Richard), Lorri (Lawson), and Craig (Christina); grandsons Cody (Georgia) and Chase; sisters Estelle, Muriel and Karen; and extended family.
Gail will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness and dedication to family will live on in the memories of those she touched. A service will be held for family and friends on April 6, 2023, at Delta Funeral Home in Ladner, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Gail's memorial tribute page at the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
