RANKIN, Gail Yvonne (nee Miller)
August 1st, 1951 - January 14th, 2023
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Gail (aka Gigi) at the age of 71. Gail was born in Edmonton, Alberta. She was predeceased by her parents Donald and Alma and her sister Carol. She is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Lisa (Tony), Laura (Travis), and Carla (Greg), sister Donna, 7 grandchildren (Zach, Linnea, Spencer, Landon, Kaitlyn, Georgia and Benjamin), and many other cherished extended family members and dear friends.
Gail loved a good cup of coffee, entertaining family, gardening, baking, and cooking beautiful meals for her family. Her kitchen was the center of our family gatherings, where she always greeted everyone with a loving hug. Gail took pride in her work as an accountant; however, she also followed her calling of being a caregiver devoting her adult life to caring for family, friends, and coworkers. There was no end to the love she poured into her loved ones and her legacy of kindness, loyalty and empathy will live on in all those who loved her. Often referred to as an angel here on earth, we know that she now has earned her wings.
Honouring Gail's request, a private family celebration will be held at a future date. Gail generously donated to the Canucks Place Children's Hospice for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations there in her memory would be appreciated.

To Gail's family, my sympathies and condolences on your loss. I didn't know Gail that well, but knew her sister Carol. I remember when the Miller family lived on Grauer Road on Sea Island. Sorry to have lost another of our Sea Island family. (Sea Island Heritage Society - www.seaislandhome.org)
