George ELLENTON Obituary

ELLENTON, George George passed away peacefully in his sleep, at the age of 68 years young. Husband, father, friend, singer, teacher, mentor and performer extraordinaire, his passion for life and music inspired many. His gentle spirit lives on in all of us whose lives he has touched, especially his loving wife Mary, daughter Jodie, son John (Allie), and four grandkitties. "As the final curtain closed, I sang my last song, danced my last step, played my last tune and said my last words." George's family would like to thank the staff at the Irene Thomas Hospice and the B.C. Cancer Agency for their loving care of him. At George's request there be will no Service, but a Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory to the Irene Thomas Hospice https://deltahospice.org and the B.C. George gave many residents at South Granville Park Lodge (my husband and myself included)much joy. We shall miss him, his singing and his wonderful personality. Our sympathy goes out to his whole family. May the warmth of his many friends and admirers help you in this time of sadness.

We had the pleasure of knowing George for a few years. He used to travel to Kelowna to entertain the residents at our residential care facilities. He was very popular and we would look forward to hearing him sing Frank Sinatra songs. We were so lucky to have known him!

To Mary, Jodie and John.
As a kid, I was not the most talented dancer and I was a mediocre singer at best but Mr. George saw an outgoing, gregarious kid who loved the stage and he found me a place in the spotlight! For this I am forever grateful. I was so sad to hear of his passing and I wanted to pass on my most sincere condolences. George's memory will live on in so many who had the opportunity to learn from him. I wish you all some peace in this difficult time.
