ROBINSON, George Alfred (85 years)
May 30, 1939 - October 6, 2024
George passed away at Peace Arch Hospital after a short battle with Cancer. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Olive Robinson. The oldest of eight children, he was predeceased by his sisters Barbara (Larry) Allan, Margaret, and Irene (Carl) Anderson. He will be remembered as a great big brother by surviving sisters Heather (Jim) Ferris, Elaine (Richard) Stoneman, Debbie (Glen) Gustafson, and brother Doug (Donna) Robinson.
George married his high school sweetheart, Joan Elaine Robinson, in 1961, and they spent every minute of their 63-plus years together. George leaves behind his three children Geordie (Beccy) Robinson, Kimberly (Neil) Juulsen and Gill Robinson; eight grandchildren Jordan, Joshua Robinson, Tyler, Nicholas (Paige), Noah (Brooke), Kaitlyn Juulsen, Jenna (Mike LaBossiere) and Chantal Palmer; great-grandchildren Mason and Josephine; best friend Gayle Suveges; his uncle Doug Robinson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
George and Joan loved to travel, shop and visit the casinos, but his greatest pastime was attending his grandchildren's sports events. They very rarely missed a hockey, soccer, baseball, lacrosse game, or a dance or gymnastic event. They would even travel to Tournaments to be part of the team spirit. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his biggest joy.
He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends. In keeping with his wishes, Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of George to the BC Cancer Foundation (
bccancerfoundation.com) or to the
Charity of Your Choice.
