GERRARD Dennis Victor

1954 - 2022

GERRARD, Dennis Victor (Gabby) Dennis was born at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver on May 18, 1954. He passed away peacefully in ICU at Surrey Memorial Hospital on June 2, 2022. Dennis is survived by his mother, Maureen, and his 2 brothers Keith (Donna) and Lorne (Lisa), as well as 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 4 great nieces and 3 great nephews. He was predeceased by his father Victor, on June 3, 2017. Dennis's work career started out on local farms in Ladner, he went commercial fishing a few years before finding his true love and lifelong career of commercial fuel truck driver. Dennis had many interests and enjoyments, his biggest pleasure came from socializing with his many friends and acquaintances, he was never scared to strike up a conversation, hence his nickname "Gabby " which he got at a young age and lived up to his whole life. He loved to watch his beloved New York Yankees and followed every pitch with passion. He also enjoyed golf, and earlier played softball on the Deltaport Farms Fastball Team. Over the years he fought off various illnesses, cancer, heart problems, COPD, and broken bones successfully, and he never complained. He fought and was a warrior right to the end. The family would like to thank all the medical professionals, nurses, doctors, etc. for their excellent care and compassion over the years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Delta Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or the Charity of Your Choice. Funeral will be held June 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 3900 Arthur Drive, Delta, BC.
