With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing at home of Helmut with family at his side. He was predeceased by his son Michael and is mourned by his wife Ingrid; children Oliver, Adam (Julia), Peter Kaufmann, Tom Kaufmann (Nicoletta Badea), and Anita Lacasse (Andre); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many friends. He was a visionary, successful self-taught artist and businessman. In memory of Helmut, donations can be made to the S.P.C.A. Celebration of life to be held at a later date.

A true gentleman of our times. I have met many people in my lifetime, but I have to say very few have moved me by their thoughts and actions as Helmut did. He called me his "prince" but no, sir, you were always the true prince. I am very thankful to have known you and shared so many wonderful thoughts and discussions of our world & times with you. You are a true kindred spirit who played a special part in who I am today. Many thanks for your honest friendship Helmut. You will be dearly missed.
