Helmut Janssen Obituary
In loving memory of Helmut (Henry) Janssen.
Helmut, or Henry as everyone knew him, passed away peacefully on November 21 after his family got to say their goodbyes.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Inge; cherished children Birgit and Norm (Marion); beloved grandchildren Paige (Mike), Abby, Colton (Taylor) and Reid; and sisters Henni, Greti and Ursula.
In 1956, after marrying the love of his life, Inge, they immigrated from Germany. Together, they faced life's challenges with determination and resilience, working hard to build their family and a home in Ladner, which Dad always said was The Best Place on Earth.
Henry loved life and was a great example of strength and positivity. He was a very generous, hardworking and deeply devoted family man who poured his heart into providing love and care for those he held dear. His biggest pleasure in life was being surrounded by his family, including his pets. He had a special love for all animals, especially dogs, who brought him great joy throughout his life.
Henry's passion for sports was evident to all who knew him, particularly soccer, which he coached in Ladner for many years. Later, he continued standing on the sidelines, watching his grandkids playing their sports. His other passion was gardening, always taking pride in creating beauty and nurturing life around him.
Helmut lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication and cherished memories.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Peace Portal Seniors Village for the care Dad received these past 1.5 years since his fall.
