It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh John Boyd (John) on Thursday Feb 11 2021 with both of his daughters by his side. Survived by his wife Marilyn, daughters Leanne (Felix) and Patricia (Rob) 7 grand children Jaymee, TJ, Brad (Jaydene) Hanna (Dino) Tyler (Phoebe) Wesley and Lidiya and 3 great grand children Mace, Jaina and Ella.
Born August 23 1935 in Fort Frances ON to John Angus and Rose Alba Boyd. John was 1 of 6 stem winders and 1 square stern. John moved to BC and soon made his way to Ladner to make it is home. John met Marilyn in 1971 and together they welcomed 2 daughters Leanne & Patricia. John worked as a steam engineer all of his life. He loved camping and hockey, but his real passion was his garden and his amazing green thumb that showed in the vegetables he produced. He spent many hours in the garden and as well as selling his veggies out of the box of his little red truck. John also loved Christmas lights so decorating his house was his winter passion and kept him busy trying to make bigger and better displays each year. He loved being mentioned on the lists of houses to see. One year he even one a prize. Even at 85 John was quick for a sarcastic comment or tipped to the side hat with a funny face. The family would like to thank a few of the staff at Kin Village (Sabrina, Heather, Marigold,Jen, Irwin and Lalita who went the extra step to take care of John and his family during a very rough time.
Goodbye is not an option. Though I know that you must go. I will say I'll see you later, because this is what I know. As I hold your hand and kiss your cheek I know you feel me here. I give you all my love and strength, there's nothing you should fear. As you close your eyes and drift away....here's only one last thing to say. Thank you for just being you and making me feel loved. I'll feel you in my heart as you watch me from above: AB
Family gathering and celebration to be decided when restrictions allow.
John was loved deeply by his family and will be forever missed by many, rest easy dad your work is over, love you to the moon and back.
