Jan PAVLIK Obituary

PAVLIK, Jan (John) Pavel June 15, 1930 - April 22, 2018 John was a true European Gentleman. He was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and in 1947 after difficult times went to England to study. The following year, in 1948, communism took over his country and it would be 43 years before he was able to return. In 1952 John arrived in Canada and worked in Ajax and Toronto before moving to Vancouver. He joined Canadian Pacific Airlines in 1959 where he worked for 27 years. After retirement in 1986, John spent 20 years working at Pavlik Specialized Tours in Deep Cove with his wife Janet. John was a proud member of the Mount Seymour Lions Club for 46 years and for the past three years also enjoyed being a member of What's News group with ElderCollege. He leaves behind his wife, Janet of 52 years and his beloved Canadian family, daughter Misha (Craig), grandchildren Brian and Teah; son Paul (Karyn) and grandson Alistair; sister Majka, niece Vera and nephew George; as well as relatives in Ottawa, Prague and Holland. There will be a funeral service at Saint Pius X in North Vancouver on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cancer Society or the North Shore Hospice.
