Jean THURLEY Obituary

THURLEY, Jean Margaret (Williams)
1933 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce Jean's passing on February 12, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Pinner England, Jean came to Canada in 1957 to start a new life with her husband Raymond Thurley, settling in a home they purchased in Tsawwassen in 1966. She loved her home, her caring neighbours, and her many friends. Jean adored her work as a Registered Nurse, finally retiring in 1996, but kept in close contact with many of the "girls" she worked with.

During her years in Delta, Jean was very active in volunteering and social organizations; a member of the Delta Community choir, Delta Toastmasters, The Glasser Institute, and the All-Saints Ladner Anglican Church.

Jean is predeceased by her husband Raymond, her son Alastair, her son-in-law Raymond Wittrock and her granddaughter Melissa Rose. She is survived by her two daughters Heather and Glynis and her daughter-in-law Marianne. Jean leaves behind to grieve four grandchildren: Anthony, Julie (Eric), Daniel (Michelle) and Joshua. Her two great-granddaughters Aria and Talia will also miss her very much.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:30PM at All Saints Ladner Anglican Church, 4755 Arthur Drive.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory to The Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver or to All Saints Ladner Anglican Church would be appreciated.

I am sad to hear of Jeans passing.
I worked with Jean for many years in White Rock and Ladner Home Health.
Jean was my mentor and at times collaborator...
We had many laughs together and I have fond memories of our time together. Jean was a force to be reckoned with and will be missed by all those she touched
Prayers and love going out to her family.

I was so sad to hear of Jean's passing .She was wonderful, and a great friend to my Mom, Marion Burnett. She also nursed me when I was recovering from surgery . My heart goes out to the family. Regretfully, I will be away March 1 . I was always happy to share a laugh with her.
