My sincere condolences to the Johnson family for your loss. I had the opportunity to work with Joel through the Surrey Elementary Athletics Society as well as through the district as a curriculum coordinator. I will always be grateful for Joel's support of Athletics and Physical Education.

A very difficult piece of news to get through Joel's more local friends. I knew Joel more closely in our younger days, spending many afternoons at the Highbury house and playing ball at the Extension park. Joel was an exceptionally gifted athlete and one of the nicest guys I ever met. The news of his early passing is sad, but I am grateful for the good times we shared.

My sincere condolences to Joel's family. I worked with Joel as an administrator in Surrey. He had a big heart and a gentle personality. We shared a love for the outdoors. He will be truly missed.
