Joyce Tait Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved cousin Joyce Tait. Joyce passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 25, 2026 at the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner, BC.

Joyce was born on September 18, 1949 in Red Deer, Alberta, where she lived her early years before moving to Granby, Quebec. She later moved to Ladner, BC where she remained for the rest of her life.

Joyce had a rewarding career in nursing at BC Women's Hospital. She had many friends in the nursing community, and there was never a story that she told that didn't come back to one of her nursing friends. They were more than co-workers; they were great friends who cared deeply for her and whom she cared about very deeply. She also had great neighbours who brought her many dinners, especially during her times of need while she was recovering from cancer treatment.

Joyce is survived by her First Cousins - John (Sandy) Keyton and Sally Crout as well her Second Cousins - Sean (Linnea) Sullivan, Joanna Crout and Joshua Keyton. Joyce is pre-deceased by her loving parents Tom and Kathleen Tait, her brother Ian Tait - survived by his significant other Ginette Bernard, her Auntie Joyce (namesake) and Uncle Buster, along with a host of loving cousins, uncles and aunts.

South Delta Baptist Church was an important part of Joyce's life. She was a devout Christian woman, and her faith carried her throughout her life. Our thanks to Pastor Paul Park and the church community, who meant so much to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Joyce on Friday, March 13, 2026 at South Delta Baptist Church, 1988 – 56th Street, Delta BC at 11:00 am.
