Kevin was a great man and dear friend to us. I will always remember when i was a kid running out of my room to hear him play guitar and sing the night away. He will be greatly missed. His guitar continues to play in lasting memory. Sending my love to the Gilletts and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

My condolences to the whole Gillett family on Kevin's sudden passing. While I knew Kevin only a short while, I feel fortunate to have had the privilege of sharing some great times on the doubles squash court with him. I know that I speak for all of the members at Evergreen Squash Club when I say with sincerity that his friendly smile, crafty court prowess, and engaging post-match conversations will be greatly missed.

While I never worked with Kevin, I am happy to look back and remember many shared dinners and pints of beer during meetings of the North Shore Bar Association. When I was a young man and new to town, he was kind and gracious and supportive. Kevin was a role model for many of us at the Bar, and I am glad to have known him.

We will always remember Kevin as a joyful, caring and wonderful person. Particularly, we remember him with a guitar in hand singing and strumming to Simon and Garfunkel adding life to every party. Kevin - you will be missed.

I am shocked, stunned, and very sad to hear of Kevin's sudden, unexpected death. He was the person I wanted to be but never could. We were in school together from Grade 9 on. He used my place in London as a launchpad for trips to Europe on one of which he met his lovely wife, Genevieve. He got me a summer job. I last saw him when he came to Calgary recently to play squash. He was so fit! He was very proud of his family and grandchildren. He was talented, athletic, generous and unassuming. I never knew him to lose his temper. He was respected by all and deservedly well liked. His loss will be keenly felt by many. I just can't believe he is gone and that I will never again hear his telephone Monty Pythonesque greeting: "Goood Eeevening!" With deepest affection. Graham Hunter.

My sympathies to Kevin's family. I worked alongside and against Kevin for a quarter century or more. I'm afraid the condolences from the legal community will sound repetitive, but that is only because he left the same impression with everybody. He was a consummate gentleman and the model Crown Counsel and advocate. I really enjoyed working with him and would also heave a sigh of relief when I learned he was on a file. He had a great understanding of the strengths and follies of humankind, a real gentleness, a great sense of humour and obvious love of his family, about whom he talked often. His early death is proof of that old adage that only the good die young.

I was surprised to hear of the passing of Kevin, the lively, kind hearted Englishman, who could speak French without a hitch. Although we were not close, I liked Kevin a lot. He was a really nice guy, and he happened to be a very good lawyer, although I think he wanted to be an actor or musician. He was a humble kind of guy with a gentle heart and a kind spirit. He loved life, and loved his family completely. No strong ego there, seemed quite content and accepting of whatever life brought. These things will do him well in the spiritual realm where we all eventually reside. The next great adventure begins.

My deepest sympathies to the whole Gillett Family. I was a witness notifier at Regional Crown & dealt with Kevin numerous times. I will never forget his kindness, warmth & sense of humour. Kevin always treated as an equal which I really appreciated.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kevin's sudden death last week.
I worked in the same office with Kevin as Crown Counsel, until 2012.
I did not know him well, but I want to extend my sincere condolences to his family and close friends.
He was a consummate gentleman. He always impressed me with his intelligence, his warmth, and his devotion to his family.
I saw him with conduct of a bail hearing in court once, and he was a compelling advocate - clear, organized and articulate.
I am very sorry for your loss of this wonderful man.
