WALTON, Mary (May)
September 29, 1940 - July 1, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Mary (May) Walton, nee Wilson. She passed away peacefully with her daughter, Dawn Haigh, by her side. She was born in Scotland, then emigrated to Canada as a child with her family. She married in 1969, her daughter was born in 1976 then as a family, they moved to Steveston, Richmond, BC in 1979 settling on Galleon Court. May was a member of the Steveston United Church and forever faithful to her God. For 15 years, May enjoyed working at Lord Byng Elementary school as a recess and lunch supervisor. She also enjoyed bingo not only for the love of the game but for the deep friendships she made there. May leaves behind a legacy of love through Dawn as well as her grandchildren, Emily & Mason Haigh.
A memorial service will be held for May Walton on Monday, August 26th, 2024, at the Steveston United Church, 3720 Broadway St, Richmond, BC. The service will begin at 1:00pm with a reception for family and friends to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to Steveston United Church or the Charity of Your Choice.
