MATTEI Mae Obituary

MATTEI, Dorothy Mae (Lee)
July 25, 1932 - February 4, 2025

Dorothy Mae (Lee) Mattei, 92, of Richmond, BC, passed away on February 4, 2025, after a brief battle with liver cancer.

Born in New Westminster and raised in Deroche, B.C., Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Ethel M. Burden and William F. Lee, and grew up alongside her three brothers, Albert, Jim, and Bob.

Dorothy dedicated her life to caring for her four children and had fulfilling careers both as a realtor and a nurse. Affectionately known as "Dot," she had an extraordinary ability to brighten any room and connect with those around her, forming lasting friendships throughout her life. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, unwavering faith, warm laughter, and sweet voice.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Jeff Mattei, and her brothers, Albert and Jim (Ethel) Lee. She is survived by her brother Bob (Kay); sister-in-law Shirley; and her four cherished children, Ray (Arlene), Linda (Rob), Carl (Kim), and Gordon (Collette). She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, Kevin, Karen, Brenda, Cheryl, Sue, Troy, Brent, and Rob; as well as her five grandchildren, Andrea, Jonathan (Heather), Rachael (Tyler), Kaity (Kyle), and Colton; and her eight great-grandchildren, Charlize, Kayla, Raegan, Nolan, Colby, Leo, Tilly, and Elodie.

A Celebration of Life will be held in early spring, with details published in the Optimist Newspaper and shared at South Delta Baptist Church.
