I have known Nick since his days at CP Air in Edmonton. He always had a joke and a smile. He was such a kind, funny, generous man. We reconnected in Vancouver and Sonja sold us our first home in Tsawwassen 32 years ago! I have such fond memories of Nick.
My deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed!

Nick was famous in the bay! Always walking and talking to everyone. He kept an eye on things. What did he used to say... strangers are only friends we haven't met yet. 1A street is named after them. I was surprised when he left the area. He is always remembered.

To all of Nick's family and friends:
The day after Nick died was the 45th anniversary of when I and he and 5 others first met, on the first day of our CPAir Passenger Agents class, 21 January 1974. Always a pleasure to see him again when I passed through YVRAP. Nick was such a friendly guy and smiled when referring to his "Matsqui Mennonite" background. His pleasant manner with customers helped to reflect the professional good name of the airline that employed us. Ruhe in Frieden, alter Freund.
