Robert YAMAMOTO Obituary

(1924 - 2012)

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) at Royal Columbian Hospital with his family at his side. Dad will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Kay, brother Giro (Margaret) and sister-in-law Sue of Kelowna, daughters Carol (Robert Mustard) and Elaine (Christian Cowley) of BC and son Dr. Brian Yamamoto (Laurie) of Burlington, Ontario. His life was blessed by his much loved grandchildren Emily; Robert, Nicholas and Eva; Katie, Amy and Grace and a large and caring extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Ichiro of Kelowna in 2006.

Robert was born in Kelowna and graduated from the University of Toronto, School of Architecture in 1951. He practiced in Toronto and Burlington where he was the architect of many major projects. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of the Burlington Lakeshore Rotary Club. Dad was warm and loving. He guided his children through life with the highest integrity and a mischievous sense of humour. He and mom retired to the west coast in 1992 where he enjoyed many years of gardening, travelling and world class salmon fishing.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on October 4th at the Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby.

Koden and flowers are gratefully declined. A donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
