Ruth Ryan Obituary
Ruth died peacefully February 13, 2026 at the age of 99. She is survived by daughters Mary Ryan and Laura Menzies, grandchildren Jordan, Michelle and Carson, nieces and nephews and extended family in Eastern Canada. Ruth was predeceased by husband James (Red), brother Stanley Winger and sister Helen Fry.
Born September 29, 1926 in Newmarket, Ontario to Karl and Katherine Winger. Ruth met and married Red at the University of Toronto where she completed an honours degree in languages before moving to Vancouver in 1959 to raise her family. She called herself a "domestic manager", loved sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, painting and swimming. In 2010 she moved to Tsawwassen continuing her active life and establishing new friendships.
An extremely devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a kind and caring person, she will be forever loved and missed.
