Sharon D. Bowen

December 24, 1941 - October 17, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend Sharon. Sharon was a long-time teacher in North Vancouver teaching at Brooksbank, Blueridge, Westview and Norgate schools. She also taught in Montreal, Baker Lake and England. Sharon was passionate about teaching and had a special way of motivating her students. Following retirement in 2006, Sharon kept busy with bridge, Scrabble, Mahjong, stained glass, pottery, jewelry making and the book club. Her weekly bridge games with most of the original members continued until very recently. Sharon also liked to travel, especially to Reno and Las Vegas. She was an active member of the Unitarian Church serving on many different committees. Throughout her battle with cancer, Sharon never gave up her sense of humor. She was well-loved and will be missed by her many friends and one very special cat. As per Sharon's wishes, there will be no service however there will be an informal gathering for friends on November 14th at the North Shore Unitarian Church at 2 p.m. 370 Mathers Ave West Vancouver
