FARLOW, Shirley
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Barbara Farlow on December 27, 2022, at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by her parents: Mel and Alice Hutchison, sister June Arnold and husband David Farlow (2018).
Shirley grew up in East Vancouver, attending Lord Selkirk Elementary and Templeton High. As a young woman her passion was women's softball, playing well into her thirties with her two sons in tow. She was active in the Victoria Drive Girls Softball league as a coach and on their executive. She loved all sports, participating in bowling, curling, golf, even sparing on her sons' slow pitch team. When called upon she kept score for Ladner's Mixed Slow Pitch league well into her late seventies. When Shirley couldn't play sports, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events (lacrosse, soccer and baseball). Dave and Shirley loved to get away to their property in Birch Bay, Snowbirding to El Centro California and traveling thru out BC and USA camping and fishing in their motorhome. They were active members of the Rusty Hinges swim club and volunteered at the McKee Senior Centre.
Nana Farlow will be greatly missed by her two sons Ric (Cherie), Stephen (Brenda); grandchildren Fraser and Richelle; and 7 great-grandkids. Heartfelt gratitude is expressed to the dedicated staff at the Czorny Alzheimer's Centre for their kindness and compassion. No service by request, donations can be made to Delta Hospital Foundation or Czorny Alzheimer's Centre.

Sincere condolences to Ric, Steve & Families at this very difficult time.
I have just learned of Shirley´s passing.
The Farlow Family were our great neighbours in Vancouver.
May your hearts soon be filled by wonderful memories of joyful memories as you celebrate a life well lived.
