MENZIES, Steven John
May 13, 1957 - May 14, 2023

After a relatively short but valiant struggle with MSA, the world lost one of it's greats. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laura, children Michelle (Scott) and Carson (Mikaela), siblings Michael (Val), Suzette (Paddy), Ian (Denise), sister-in-law Marguerite, and many extended family members and close friends. Steve was predeceased by his brother Allan and parents, John and Bev.

Steve was born in North Vancouver and spent his childhood years on Galiano and Saltspring Islands, from which he had many great memories. He and Laura were married in 1986, and they moved to Beach Grove (Tsawwassen) where they raised their family and developed lifelong friendships.

Steve worked in the automotive business for over 40 years; the majority of which were dedicated to building his OK Tire business in Burnaby, which he ran with integrity and true grit. His personality, dedication and customer service-driven attitude enabled Steve to build a loyal clientele and staff.

Steve was passionate about playing and watching sports, fishing, and woodworking, and even as his disease progressed, he rarely missed an opportunity to have fun. Steve never lost his positive attitude and tackled the many challenges in his last year with dignity, strength and a great sense of humour. While his adventures came to an end far too soon, Steve spent his last days celebrating his 66th birthday with family and close friends, dancing, and enjoying his favorite treats.

Steve had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew him. His presence was larger than life, and he is dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Tsawwassen Springs on July 23rd at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Charity of Your Choice.
