Sydney Cuthill Obituary
It is with immense sadness, but infinite gratitude that we celebrate the life of Sydney Victoria Cuthill (nee Spencer).
Sydney passed peacefully at home on February 15th, surrounded by her loving family, after a battle with cancer she fought tirelessly for 15 years.
Born February 23rd, 1960 in Chilliwack, Sydney grew up on a picturesque hazelnut farm in Rosedale, BC. The love of adventure (and many parties) began there!
Sydney is survived by her husband of 35 years and high school boyfriend, Don, her beloved children whom she absolutely adored, Tait (Sarah), and Anne, as well as her sister Barb, and brothers Randy, and Chris.
A Crofton House girl, Sydney lived in Vancouver through her 20s, eventually growing into a career with the Pan Pacific Hotel. Oh the stories she would come home with!
After welcoming her children, Sydney made the decision to start a small in-home daycare so she could stay with her babies in their early years. This decision led to many life long friendships and helped to create deep roots in Sydney and Don's chosen community of Tsawwassen.?? Later, Syd joined her brother Chris at his construction business, Aberthau Homes where Sydney always "raised the bar". In more recent years, as a keen and avid gardener, Syd loved working with the Chickweeds Landscaping Company in Tsawwassen.
Sydney will be remembered for her bright spirit, her ability to to face any and all challenges with incredible perseverance and her beautiful smile, her devoted friendships, and for her endless love for Don, Tait, and Anne.
Our family wishes to deeply acknowledge the wonderful care Sydney received throughout the years, in particular under the guidance of Dr Andrea McNeil's team at VGH. You went above and beyond to provide the best care possible.
This incredible woman, with an absolute love of family, an incredible sense of humour, a strong will, and deep friendships will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 28th 1 pm at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Club in Delta, BC.
